AI Readiness Checklist for Manufacturers: Ten questions. Ten minutes.

Is your operations data ready to carry an AI? A CFO or COO should be able to answer every question without calling IT.

How It Works

How to use this AI readiness checklist

Answer yes only if it is true today, not after the next cleanup.

The ten questions fall into four groups: can you get to the data, can you trust it, is it explained, and is the organization ready. Tick each one that is a yes and your score updates as you go. Nothing you tick leaves this page.

The questions test the same four things an AI readiness assessment scores: agreed definitions, one source per metric, documented fields, and governed access.

A. Can you get to the data?

Access is the first thing an AI assistant inherits.

B. Can you trust the data?

An assistant answers from whatever is there, right or wrong.

C. Is the data explained?

The part almost every model is missing, and the cheapest to fix.

D. Is the organization ready?

Tools do not create accountability. People do.

Not ready yet, and that is a normal place to start

Begin with the BI fundamentals: agreed definitions, one source per metric, documented fields, governed access. Scoring here is common, and it is where the useful work starts.

Scoring

What your yes count means

  • 8 to 10 yes. AI-ready.

Your data foundation is strong. The assistant is the easy part; move.

  • 5 to 7 yes. Getting there.

Some foundation work before an AI will stick, usually definitions and field descriptions.

  • 0 to 4 yes. Not ready yet, and that is a normal place to start.

Scored lower than you expected?

The AI Readiness Assessment is $7,500, fixed, about two to three weeks. We build a governed model from one area of your data, connect an AI to it, and grade its answers to your leadership's own questions. You also get the four-pillar score and a written fix list in priority order. Credited in full against a Foundation Build signed within six months.
